Year 6 Reflections

Year 6 Reflections by Isabella Morris

The last term of 2019 is upon us and the year 6’s are preparing for high school. This final term is a busy one for the year 6’s… they have just held the Mini Fete which was a great success and around the corner is transition to high school and the Year Six Farewell.

This year 6 group have been learning and playing together for so long, with so many great high schools in Bathurst, next year brings about great change. Everyone has different feelings about moving into high school…

Josh Pringle, Sam Hamer and George Palmer are all going to Stannies next year. Josh is looking forward to the woodwork and metalwork subjects while Sam is “looking forward to everything because of the great learning diversity that helps you make new experiences” and George is exciting to join the footy teams. When asked about their favourite things about BPS and what they would miss the most, all three talked about their great friendships and the amazing teachers at BPS.

Mia McClements and Evie Goninan are going to MacKillop. Mia is looking forward to woodwork and Evie is looking forward to learning new things. Both Evie and Mia said their first day of kindergarten has been one of their fondest memories of BPS and that they will miss their relationships with their friends and teachers the most.

Sophie Lindsay and Hugh Thomas are planning on going to Kelso High School. Both Sophie and Hugh are looking forward to sport and Sophie is also looking forward to the education. When asked about their favourite thing at BPS Sophie said “Making new friends and creating memories that will never fade," and Hugh said “hanging out with friends”.

Jye Orenshaw and Thomas Platt are going to Bathurst High school next year. Jye is looking forward to the athletics carnival and Tommy is looking forward to how different things will be. Both Jye and Thomas said they are going to miss their friends the most and that Myuna Bay Camp has been their favourite thing at BPS over the years.

These are just a few of the insights from the current Year 6 cohort. No doubt the move to high school will be exciting, with a whole lot of new subjects to undertake, experience to have and friends to make. It is obvious that everyone has loved their time at BPS and will cherish their memories and friendships.
