A message from our Principal
Dear Parents
The weather conditions over the past week have been horrific. Whilst we have not experienced catastrophic fires, we have had some lunch times inside due to the dust and wind. Our thoughts this week have been with the many family, friends and communities that have been devastated by the recent fires. Some of our Year 5 children are currently organising an 'Act of Kindness' day where all children will be able to wear free dress and make a gold coin donation. All funds raised will be donated to communities/schools effected by the recent bushfires. More information and a date will be set early next week and sent home to all families.
Not even the strong winds could deter our Year 6 children last Friday during the Mini Fete. Thank you to our Year 6 children on the amazing planning and creativity in setting up the mini fete. It was hugely successful. Thank you to the many parents for attending and supporting the event and to the teachers for coordinating the day.
On Monday we had a Remembrance Day Assembly where the children and staff had the opportunity to stop, reflect and remember and those men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice. Thankyou Mr Datt and Mrs Guihot for coordinating this gathering.
On Monday we held our Captain nominees for 2020 speeches and voting. In the afternoon, we also had house meetings where nominees presented a speech and children in years 1-5 voted. All of the nominees presented themselves extremely well and made us very proud. Well done all. The Leadership Team for 2020 will be announced at Presentation Day.
Our School came together on Tuesday to take part in the Count Me In initiative where all schools across Australia can be part of singing 'We Are' at the same time. Super special when you know 750 000 other children are singing the same song at the same time. It reminds us how lucky we really are! Thankyou Ms Nelson for coordinating this terrific opportunity.
Our School Spectacular Dance children travel to Cowra for a full day of rehearsals tomorrow whilst our Stage 2 children head to Abercrombie Caves for the day. They should all have a wonderful time.
The ten day intensive swimming program commences on Monday 18th November. All children will have received a note by tomorrow outlining the venue they will be attending, the time of their lesson and what they will need to bring to school each day. If any parents have any queries, please contact the office at school.
Our annual school magazine is currently being printed. The school magazine is an amazing keepsake and a wonderful reflection on our 2019 school year. The cost of the magazine is $32 and orders are now be taken at the office. Please find the note on the notes home page of this newsletter.
Our School Newsletter will now be uploaded every Thursday so all parents receive information at the same time. Please refer to our website to download the weekly newsletter.
If any parent has any concerns regarding any aspect of school life, please do not hesitate to contact me.
