From the Sport Captain

As we begin the term that will conclude the school year, we continue in the spirit of resilience and striving to achieve success, both on and off the field and court, in our final weeks of Trimester 3 sport. The girls have conducted themselves admirably throughout the season so far, and I believe they will continue in this vein and  finish strongly.   I love seeing all the happy faces of the girls as they gather before catching the buses to the different venues.

This year has been a year of growth at the College, especially in the Sport Department, as new initiatives have been introduced, including social rock climbing, Monday Mingles, and several teacher vs student mini games.  I have been privileged to have the opportunity to serve the College in my role as Sport Captain and have loved seeing such a large number of the girls, as well as staff, involved in different aspects of sport at the College.

When I started the year, my goal was to increase participation in sport throughout the college community and, as the year comes to an end, it gives me great pleasure to see this through.  I have enjoyed every opportunity during the year where I have had the privilege of encouraging sport within the College and seeing girls enjoy what is sport at Mount Alvernia College.  I am looking forward to finishing this year on a high as I pass my roll onto the 2020 Sport Captain, Emma Winstanley.
