Community Champions

Did you know that Mrs Lyndel Holt is a Community Champion?

Lyndel has been a member of the Jells Park PS community for over 10 years. Students will know her best as one of our dedicated volunteer SRI teachers. However, she has also been the co-ordinator of the SRI program for our school over that time. Every week Lyndel would volunteer her time to organise other volunteers, create timetables, distribute resources and instruct students  as part of the SRI program.

Lyndel has now decided to retire from the role with Jells Park  PS. Her commitment and dedication to our students over the years has been greatly appreciated. On behalf of the school we say a massive thank you to Lyndel and wish her all the best for the future as she moves on to other ventures.

Anzac Day Ceremony

On Friday 22 April, the whole school gathered in the courtyard for a commemorative ANZAC service in memory of those who have given their lives, been injured or taken as prisoner, or served in conflicts that the Australian Defence Force participated. Our School Captains and Vice Captains lead us in a reflective and informative commemoration which highlighted the Courage, Sacrifice, Mateship and Endurance of the ANZACS. Mr Mike Black, Secretary of the Waverley RSL, was in attendance and he was impressed with the involvement and engagement of students throughout the service. Classes had been working hard all week on class wreaths which were laid at the foot of the flag pole and are now on display in the senior building. It was a fitting commemoration to stop, be still and remember those who have given and gave so much for our country. Lest We Forget.
