SACCSS Chess

On Monday the 15th of August Catholic Regional College Sydenham hosted the SACCSS Chess Tournament. We had some fantastic results.

Rembrant Soler finished 2nd overall for the Senior Division and Jonah Baquil finished third overall for the Senior Division. Rembrant Soler finished 2nd overall for the Senior Division and Jonah Baquil finished third overall for the Senior Division. 

The team also came first overall for the Senior Division and they have now won this award two years in a row.

Girls AFL Friendly match

On Tuesday the 9th of August the Catholic Regional College Sydenham Female AFL team travelled to Overnewton College to play them in an inaugural twighlight football match. The game was organised to promote the fast growing AFL womens league.

It was a great match and although CRC Sydenham were winning for 3 out of 4 quarters the game ended in a draw! Many students and parents came down after school to support the team and there was a brilliant atmosphere.

Moana Hope, a Marque player who was drafted this year for Collingwood Football Club came to support the CRC Sydenham team and Daisy Peirce, a Marque player who was drafted this year to Melbourne Football club was coaching the Overnewton side.

Congratulations to Andrew Mollica and Shannon McFerran for an outstanding girls AFL season in 2016.
