Deputy Principal's News

Dear Families,

Welcome Back to Term 2!  The school Holidays almost feel like a distant memory.  This term has already started full steam ahead. Last week we were fortunate enough to join the residents at ANZAC Hostel for a moving service where we remembered those who lost their lives. The students showed respect and made us all proud in the way they participated.

With an election around the corner, 3 of our Year 6 students along with students from other schools were invited to Tim Wilson's office in Bentleigh for a community morning tea.  The students received certificates recognising the work that they do as Community Leaders.

Winter Uniforms

With the colder weather here, a timely reminder that students should be wearing their full school winter uniforms commencing Week 3 - Monday 6th May.  Weather permitting, School Hats will not be required during Terms 2 and 3.

NAPLAN will take place here at school for the students in Year 3 and 5 commencing Tuesday 14th May - Thursday 16th May.  Students will be sitting the NAPLAN paper test.  Please see the attached information flyer for further information including times and content areas assessed. Where students are sitting 2 tests on the day, tests will be scheduled so that one will take place before play and one after.  Any students who are absent on the day may be eligible to sit a catch up test depending on staffing and time. Students are not permitted to sit 3 or more tests on any given day. Please remember that NAPLAN is only a snapshot of where students are at.

Please note that where there are two tests scheduled for the day, the first test  will commence at 9.30am and the second session at 11.30am. Students will not be permitted to sit more than 3 tests per day.

School Athletics

Congratulations and thank you to all staff, students and parents.  The invaluable support you offered yesterday ensured the smooth running of the day.   Special mention and credit goes to Mrs Georgia McNamara and Mrs Chris Kidman in their thorough planning and preparation of the students.  The day was a resounding success. Congratulations once again to all involved.
