Dear Parents
Welcome to another term of learning and thinking at St Pius X College.
Parents in Years 5 and 6 have by now received your son’s Interim Report in the mail. For parents in Years 7 to 11, Interim Reports are available through the Portal. There was a glitch during the holidays as reports were not able to be downloaded and we apologise for this inconvenience. It has now been rectified.
Please take the opportunity to discuss your son's Interim Report with him and have a positive conversation about his progress to identify strategies for continued growth.
Year 12 Reports: Year 12 Teachers are now in the process of completing Mid Course Reports and these will be available on the Portal after school on Friday 7 May.
Year 11 Parent Teacher Meetings: Year 11 Parent/Student/Teacher Meetings are scheduled for Monday 13 May from 4.00pm in the College Gymnasium.
Years 5 to 10 Parent Teacher Meetings - Last Day this Term: Parent Teacher Meetings for Years 5 to 10 will take place during the day on Friday 28 June which is in the last week of this term. There are no classes scheduled for this day and students are expected to attend in full winter uniform.
A general reminder that you can check your son's level of achievement for assessment tasks when marks are released through the Portal. You can also check due dates and details for assessment tasks.
NAPLAN: A reminder for parents with sons in Years 5, 7 and 9 that NAPLAN testing will be held in Week 3 of this term. NAPLAN tests provide point-in-time information regarding student progress in literacy and numeracy and are intended to complement the wide range of formal and informal assessments that are already conducted in the college. The results provide valuable information about student achievement that can be used to inform teaching and learning programs.
- Important Equipment for NAPLAN: Students need to have the following pieces of equipment:
- a pencil (2B or HB) or black ballpoint pen for Writing Test
- an eraser
- a sharpener
- calculators for the Numeracy Calculator test only
- Appointments during NAPLAN: Please avoid scheduling medical appointments during NAPLAN week.
