Colour Fun Run

The Marlborough Primary School colour fun run took place on Wednesday 14th November.  It was a rainy overcast day but the weather certainly did nothing to dampen the smiles and colourful fun that occurred that afternoon.

A very big thank you goes to Mrs Chisholm, Jane and the Marlborough running team for the two warm ups that got the kids super excited for the run and set the mood for the rest of the afternoon. Thanks to Stefan for playing the perfect set of tunes to get the kids up and dancing whilst waiting patiently for their turn to run.

A very big thank you to the huge number of parents, family members and students who volunteered to man the colour stations, squirt the water guns and spray the kids as they ran past, some parents even managed to find themselves just as colourful as their kids.  It was great to see so many family and friends come down and watch the students participate in such a fantastic and colourful day.

A very big thank you and congratulations goes to the students who raised an amazing amount of money.  The top 5 student fundraisers were Benji B, Ewan B, Harley U, Lillian H and Archer V.

The class that raised the most about of money was Prep B who did an amazing job – it is so great to see the preps getting involved. Prep B will be treated to a movie and popcorn hamper to be enjoyed during the last week of school.

Overall the students did a fabulous job of raising approximately $4,500 which will go towards the refurbishment of the unit that is currently the grade 3 and 4 classrooms. Having the added incentive of prizes and the digital fundraising platform certainly contributed to the increase in the funds raised by this event compared to similar events in the last few years. Special thanks to Beck Bennett for looking after the financial side of the fund raiser.

All students will receive a participation certificate and prizes should arrive in the next 2 weeks.

Already the planning for next year’s Colour Fun Run event has begun. If you have any ideas’ or are keen to join the sub committee for next year please contact Kirstin Murrihy.
