Principal's Report

Giving back to the community

As we get to the end of the year and reflect on everything that has happened at school, a few of the things that really stand out is when students have gone above and beyond to help improve the lives of other people.

There have been fundraising events organised by students such as the Salvation Army Christmas Drive that was supported and promoted by Anika, Emily and Jasmine in yr 5/6 and the Great Cycle Challenge organised by Brodie Rollings in 5/6.

There are also the innumerable moments of kindness between students in the yard. These can be helping a younger student who seems hurt or worried, or inviting someone to join your game who seems left out.

There is a great sense of fulfillment and worth that comes with helping others, showing empathy and being kind. Part of having a sense of gratitude for how great so many of our lives are, is then doing our bit to help make the world around us a better place.

Assemblies in the last week of school

In our last week of school we will not have a Monday morning assembly. This will be replaced by a Tuesday morning Assembly (9:00am Tuesday 18th December). At this assembly we will be announcing school leadership positions, Academic Achievement and Endeavour Awards, the Bendigo Bank Award and our Federal Member Michael Sukkar will be announcing our Deakin Shield Award winners.

We will also have a special assembly at 1:00pm on the final day of the school year (Friday 21st December). At this Assembly we will be farewelling our Graduating Yr 6 students.
