HUMAN POWERED VEHICLE UPDATE

Two weeks ago, we held our second Trivia night that was very successful and enjoyed enormously by all. The event was well attended and we even had to create an extra table to accommodate all of the teams. We had teams made of parents and friends, the teachers and the HPV kids had their own teams. The winning team was appropriately called ‘the Winners’. The trivia night along with the silent auction raised a massive $2000, which is being used to buy the additional trailer we need to transport our four vehicles.

More importantly, a HUGE WELL DONE to the kids, led by Amelia Rickard who organised the entire evening, from booking the venue, writing the questions, organising and collecting donations for the auction and setting up the online ticket buying service.

Last weekend, a group of our parents organised and ran a sausage sizzle at Bunnings and raised an additional $1940. A HUGE thank you and well done to Michelle Acheson and Jo Berry who organised and coordinated the whole thing, Keith Edwards for sorting out the food donations and to the other parents and kids who came and helped on the day.

It is a huge privilege to work with such amazing kids and dedicated parents. Without this combined effort the HPV Team would not be where we are now. Our young people never cease to impress both myself and others in the College and community.  They are  an inspiration to all those around them.
