Nurture. Innovate. Celebrate.

Dear Students, Parents, Carers and Families,

Art Club

On Thursday the 20th of May, Maramba Primary School held its first Art Club of 2021. With over 70 students in attendance, the room was buzzing with creative energy. Our Visual Arts leaders, along with other volunteer students from the senior school helped the younger students with their ideas and finding materials.

It was heart-warming to see so many Maramba students express their love of art in one room. All students demonstrated Maramba’s 4 R’s: resilience, respect, responsibility, and relationships. Students from Foundation to Grade 6 were working alongside one another. Not only were they being creative, but forming new relationships with their peers. At the end of lunchtime, everyone put in the effort to tidy up the room before the next class.

The room was bustling, students filled the seats at every table, some standing in order to join their friends. There was a group of students constructing cardboard sculptures on the floor and helpers making their way around to assist anyone in need.

In the following weeks, the Visual Arts leaders and I will be taking on feedback and seeing how we can improve the club to run specific activities for the students.

Thank you to all of the wonderful students for joining in to draw, colour, build, create, and collage. I look forward to seeing you each week in the art room.

Kind Regards,

Taiga Luks Visual Arts and STEAM teacher
