PRINCIPAL'S REPORT

Erin Wright - Principal
STRIVE
Well done to everyone during the snap 7-day lockdown for adapting so well to the need to enter into remote learning at short. It was a speed bump that we weren’t expecting during the Term, and hoping to avoid, but everyone showed resilience, collaboration and a positive outlook which was amazing to see. Students completed their assessments and remained focused on completing their work, which was inspiring. Student reports will be written within the usual timeline and will be sent out to families at the end of this Term, so please keep an eye out on your Compass Parent Portal. If you require your log-ins to access Compass, please contact our Administration Team as soon as possible.
UNITE
Year 12 Student-Led Conferences are on in Week 3 of next Term, Tuesday 27 July from 3:30pm – 5:00pm. More information on whether these will be on or off-site and the booking process will be communicated with families soon. It’s important for parents/carers and teachers to partner together and support students to finish their final year of secondary school strong and to focus on their VCE/VCAL studies. We look forward to seeing families and students at the conferences.
RESPECT
There is a recognised focus on improving our ability to look after our College environment. This term, our staff and students have been focusing on:
- Ensuring our school yard is tidy. We have seen an improvement and thank our students for making a conscious effort to dispose of their rubbish in the bins around the College. We encourage parents/carers to consider a sustainable food option to assist in the reduction of waste at the College.
- Thank you to those students who are parking their motorised scooter and/or moped at the bike shed. A reminder that it is important to follow and abide by the road rules around motor vehicles as the safety of our young people is paramount.
FLOURISH
Our student leaders have been busily working on a time capsule for our College 10 year anniversary, which will take place on-site during Term 4. We also have our working party which consists of staff and parents to plan a community event mark the occasion. Keep an eye out for some information in the newsletters and we look forward to showing our plans to the community during Term 3!
