Years 7, 9, 11

Congratulations to all students on the successful completion of Semester On. For our Year 7 students, their first high school report is an important right of passage. For all students it is a time to celebrate accomplishments, reflect on challenges and plan for improvement. We encourage parents and caregivers to book for our 7-10 Parent Teacher Evening on Wednesday 26 July 2023. More information about this evening will be communicated on our return in Term 3.

As the cold weather approaches and students are encouraged to rug up, it is vital that the Henry Kendall High School community revisits its uniform policy. The NSW Department of Education clearly states that “…the wearing of school uniforms by students helps builds self-confidence and a sense of connection with their community”. As a school that adheres to a uniform policy, we are seeking support from parents and students. It is vital that:

  • Students bring in a signed note from a parent/caregiver for any uniform issues.
  • Students who need to wear an alternative, should make it something as close to our uniform as possible.
  • Students who are not wearing uniform and have no note are required to attend uniform detention with a Deputy Principal.

Letters outlining our uniform concerns have been sent to students who have several uniform infractions over Semester One. A copy of our uniform policy can be found on the Henry Kendall High School website:

The July holidays are often ideal time to replace items of uniform and prepare for the colder months ahead. Our uniform is stocked by Lowes – Imperial Centre, Gosford and can be viewed and bought online at:

We also ask that students wear appropriate footwear, particularly for practical subject areas. Black, enclosed shoes are necessary and students will receive a detention for non-compliance with the uniform policy.

Year 11 enter a busy period of learning and assessment in Term 3, as courses come to an end. Final Course Examinations will commence in  Week 9. It is vital that students begin to prepare summaries, communicate with their teachers and consolidate learning prior to these important exams. Year 11 into 12 interviews will take place in Term 4. This is a wonderful opportunity to explore HSC pathways and performance in all courses.

Wishing all the very best for the coming holidays.
