Student Services

This term our students have had access to some incredible speakers.

Guest Speaker - Derek Rabelo

Our school was lucky enough to have Derek Rabelo join us at Henry Kendall and speak with our Year 11 and 12 students. Derek was born blind and despite his challenges, set a goal to surf Pipeline on the North Shore of Oahu (think BIG waves!). Derek has worked with the likes of Kelly Slater throughout his journey. Derek encouraged our students on how to be resilient and persevere through challenging times.

Stand Tall Event

On Thursday 8 June 2023, we took 100 of our Year 10 students to the Stand Tall Event in Sydney. The inspirational event for secondary students brings a host of speakers together in one room to arm students with the skills of resilience, the strength to stand up to bullying, the keys to motivation, the power of perspective and the benefits of making good and wise decisions. We were so proud of how respectful our students were on the day.

Helpful Resources for Parents / Caregivers

If you are the parent or carer of a teenager who refuses to go to school, you may be feeling helpless or frustrated by the situation. It’s common to feel this way, especially because school refusal can be constantly changing – your teenager may be okay some days and then refuse to go to school on others.

There is no one-size-fits-all approach to managing school refusal, so this article explores a variety of practical strategies you can try:

With colder months heading our way we have a number of students in need of uniforms. In particular, if you have any spare jumpers, jackets or past school uniforms we are happy to accept them.

Thank you!!
