Sport News

Well done to our school cross country runners who competed at the Oceanic carnival yesterday. Our students did a fantastic job representing Tallebudgera with outstanding behaviour, sportsmanship, teamwork and determination. The course was tough with a few sneaky uphill sections and with the warm weather it made for a challenging run.

A massive congratulations to Nash who smashed his race to take out the win. Well done to Eva who lead the whole race and was pipped at the line to finish in 2nd place and Winnie who pushed hard in tough conditions to take out 6th place in her race. These 3 have now qualified for the South Coast cross country carnival on Tuesday 30 May.

Interschool Gala Day for Year 5 and 6

Our interschool Gala Day is fast approaching. The year 5 and 6 students have been training hard in their chosen sport. The students will bring home their Gala Day note today. Can it please be returned as soon as possible. The interschool Gala Day on Monday 29 May is at Pizzey Park and Firth park. Please see the note for the location of your child’s sport.

Free Tuesday and Thursday Afternoon Sport

Our free afternoon sport kicked off with a bang this week with record numbers. Monday is rugby union with 5 weeks remaining, Tuesday is athletics with 3 weeks remaining and Thursday is hockey with 3 weeks left after today. Parents are encouraged to come and watch. Just a reminder that students must be collected from the main oval at 4pm. If you are running late, your child will be walked up to the office. We cannot let students walk to the pick up zone for collection at this time, as there is no teacher supervision after 3:30pm.

Athletics Sports Day

Our athletics carnival will be held in week 10 of this term. Our students have been training hard in our lesson, working on their running, jumping and throwing skills. The sports day is broken up over two days with the junior carnival (prep - year 2) on Tuesday 20 June and our senior carnival (year 3 – year 6) is on Wednesday 21 June.

Have a great week!

Yours in fitness and Health
