Learning together as one community

Parent - Teacher Conferences

Our Parent-Teacher Meet and Greet conferences will take place on Wednesday 12th July from 1:30pm. These conferences will be held online via Google Meet and will be 10 minutes in duration.

Students will be dismissed at 1:00pm on this day and Extend will be made available for those who may need to access this resource.

Booking information is on its way. Kate will be communicating booking details this week, please keep an eye out on your email and the school dojo.  If you are unable to attend these conferences, please contact your child's classroom teacher to organise a different mutually agreeable time.

Each family will receive a Google Meet link (via Dojo) to access your child's conference from your child's classroom teacher closer to the day. Please use this link to access your Google Meet Parent-Teacher Conference.

A few helpful tips to ensure these conferences run as smoothly as possible:

  • enter your conference at the correct time scheduled
  • use the correct link sent by the correct classroom teacher
  • you may be asked to wait to be let in - don't panic, your child's classroom teacher may be finalising the conference scheduled before yours
  • do not use your child's Holy Spirit account

Semester One Reports

At Holy Spirit Community School we support an ongoing approach to Assessment and Reporting, in which we link curriculum and classroom practice with assessment. The Student Report is designed to provide you with clear information about your child’s progress against The Victorian Curriculum F–10, which incorporates the Australian Curriculum, and reflects Victorian state-wide priorities and standards.

The Student Report documents your child’s achievement to date, as well as the next steps in their learning. The document consists of rubrics, curriculum progression points and a general comment, providing a detailed overview of your child’s learning thus far.

Your child's/children's student report will be sent home in the final week of school (next week) via the online portal. More information about how to access the reports will be available via the school dojo.

Please take the time to reflect and celebrate your child/children and their learning so far this year.

ICAS Assessments

We are delighted to inform you that Holy Spirit will be participating in the world-renowned ICAS competitions this year for our Years 3 - 6 students.

What is ICAS?

ICAS is an online academic competition that is designed to assess students’ higher order thinking and problem-solving skills in English, Mathematics, Science, Writing, Spelling Bee and Digital Technologies.

Each assessment celebrates students’ accomplishments by providing opportunities for recognition and development. Every student will receive a printed certificate and an online results report. Top performers will be eligible for medals.

We encourage you to consider entering your child into ICAS this year. Learn more about ICAS here: https://www.icasassessments.com/products-icas

Holy Spirit has signed up for both the English and Mathematics ICAS Assessments in 2023. These tests will be completed at school, during school hours, and are not compulsory to complete. You may enter your child in one or both of the English and Mathematics ICAS Assessments. Students must be in Years 3 - 6 to have the opportunity to sit these assessments.

Testing Date period

Mathematics: Monday 28th August - Friday 1st September
