National Pyjama Day
Week 6, T2
National Pyjama Day is coming up and there is some exciting merch that you can buy online to support The Pyjama Foundation.
If you go to Myer (online or instore) you can find National Pyjama Day pyjamas with clouds and cloud animals – available in men’s, women’s and kids sizes. If you would like to buy those pyjamas, it would be so cool if any teachers and kids did it to support The Pyjama Foundation and also wear matching pyjamas on National Pyjama Day!
The Pyjama Foundation also sell t-shirts, bags and pens on their website. If you could buy them it would support The Pyjama Foundation plus you get some pretty cool things to keep!! You could use these items at home, at school or parents might use them at work!
If you can buy these things, it would help The Pyjama Foundation for all involved. For example, the money will support children in foster care to receive things they need for school, or activities that Pyjama Angels can do with their Pyjama Child on their weekly visit.

Why did OPS choose The Pyjama Foundation?
Week 4 T2
Oatlands Primary School wanted to help The Pyjama Foundation because as a community, we value equal opportunities for all children. As we are a large school, we will be able to help The Pyjama Foundation very much through gold coin donations collected on National Pyjama Day.
How will The Pyjama Foundation use the money?
The Pyjama Foundation uses funds to support children in foster care. The money goes towards screening and training volunteers, called Pyjama Angels. Pyjama Angels visit foster children for 1 hour every week to play fun, educational games. Having a Pyjama Angel gives the children a reliable role model to feel safe and have fun with.
The money also goes towards much needed educational resources for children in foster care.
How can we help The Pyjama Foundation?
Oatlands Primary School are getting involved in National Pyjama Day for 2023. This means, on Friday 21st of July, all students and staff are encouraged to wear their pyjamas to school and bring a gold coin donation.
Outside of school, adults may choose to look into becoming a Pyjama Angel.
The Oatlands community are also welcome to donate additional amounts to our fundraising page.
You are also welcome to purchase some merchandise from their website, or pick up some Pyjama Foundation pyjamas from Myer.

Week 10 T1
This July, Oatlands Primary School will be participating in National Pyjama Day, the major fundraiser for The Pyjama Foundation.
The Pyjama Foundation is an Australian Not-for-profit organisation, that was created to provide children in care a world of unlimited opportunity, to create positive relationships and to instil a love for learning.
Oatlands Primary School is proud to support an organisation that works with over 1100 children on a weekly basis. In the lead up to our fundraiser, we will be providing more information about The Pyjama Foundation and ways in which you can support their efforts. Keep an eye out for this!
Our whole school Pyjama Day fundraiser will be held on Friday 21st of July 2023.
