We’ve had some amazing sporting achievements from our students over this term.

We had the following 10 students representing Oatlands at the Casey North Division Cross Country event this Wednesday. We wish them the best of luck competing:

Zara 4BT, Harvey 4BT, Liam 4SB, Jade 5LK, Logan 6DO, Liana 6RF, Evie 6RF, Tate 6EB ,Levi 5MD, Anais 5MD. We are very proud of your efforts at the event. We had some outstanding results. Congratulations to Evie, Jade, Anais and Liam who placed top 10 and will now compete at the next stage; Southern Metropolitan Region.

A big congratulations to Mehar in 6RF for progressing to the regional tennis finals. She narrowly missed out on a place to compete at the state school event.

On Thursday, May 11th, we had two teams enter the Kea Cup Netball Tournament. They all played their hearts out and demonstrated excellent sportsmanship and teamwork. Our mixed A division team incredibly won the event after an unbelievably close grand final. They brought home a huge trophy and a goodies bag each for their efforts! Congratulations Harmony, Xavier, Logan, Tate, Kenzie, Matilda, Tia, Ronav and Bella!

We’ve also had some outstanding basketballers make great progress in the state schools basketball team selections. Congratulations to Tia and Jaxon . We are proud of your efforts and wish you well at your next selection day.

Earlier this term our grade 5 students were lucky enough to meet some very talented Melbourne Football Club players; Harrison Petty, Jake Bowey and Kade Chandler. They got to practise some football skills and were able to chat with the players about their journey to become AFL players. The students and staff were very excited to meet them.

In our PE classes, our prep, grade one and grade two students continue to work on their Fundamental Movement Skills, with a focus on bouncing, kicking and leaping. Our Thursday classes have been lucky enough to have some basketball sessions run by the SEDA basketball college. Our grades 3-6 classes have been practising the various athletics disciplines in preparation for our school athletics carnival to be held on the first day back of Term 3 (July 10th) at Casey Fields Athletics Complex. Information will be available on Compass in the coming weeks.
