Learning and Teaching

3/4MK

We have been using our speaking and listening skills in 3/4MK to rehearse and perform plays.  Our goal was to use expressive voices, different body language and actions to help tell the story.

Green Team News

There was lots to be done in Brendan’s Garden last week, as the Green Team had not had an opportunity to tend to the garden for several weeks.

It was exciting to see how well the seedlings we had planted two months ago had grown and there were many vegetables to harvest. Some of the vegetables we harvested were; mini red, green and yellow capsicums, beans, zucchini, beetroot and lettuce.

The next job we needed to do was weed the garden boxes and pull out some plants that had finished producing, such as the tomatoes, cucumbers and beans. We counted 11 pumpkins, most of which have escaped their garden box and are happily growing on the gravel. We plan to harvest most of the pumpkins this Friday.

The other task the students were involved in was planting daffodil bulbs under and around the fruit trees near the basketball court. We thought it would be lovely to bring some colour and fragrance to the garden at the end of winter/beginning of spring. We also sprinkled poppy seeds in the central garden bed and we hope to have a show of flowers by Remembrance Day in November.

Once again the Green Team displayed wonderful teamwork and energy to complete all the tasks required and it is such a pleasure to be the leader of this enthusiastic group of students.
