Over the last few weeks the students in the junior school have been practising their Fundamental Movement skills and continuing to work on improving their fitness levels in physical education class and daily fitness.

The Pre-primary and Year 1 students have been learning new locomotor and object control games. Due to the wet weather, they played balloon games which help with hand eye coordination, balance, learning the basics of net sport and is also a great energy buster.

The Year 2 students have been learning to combine locomotor and object control skills when participating in minor games. They are also learning the importance of teamwork when playing these games.

The Year 3 students have been focusing on demonstrating the warm up game that they have designed. I have been very impressed with the quality of the games at this stage.

The students have also been playing Invasion games such as Netta Netball, Skittle Ball and Grip Ball Lacrosse. When playing these games, they are demonstrating the locomotor and object control skills of running, underarm, overarm throwing and catching and learning how to strategically move when playing these games.
