Positive Climate for Learning:
SeeSaw
Although we are not all together, it has been great to hear about all the positive work students and families have achieved this term. One thing that we all miss is having all our students onsite at school where we can see your responses to the work we we give you. When families have done this regularly through Seesaw, email, Webex conference, then we really feel like we are keeping in touch with you and know that all our hard work is having a positive effect on students. Please keep posting up photos and videos of all your work at home onto Seesaw or share with your teachers and ES staff, it is great to see.
Some life skill tips for you to help out at home
Helping out home can make life a lot more positive for everyone. If you can, see how many of these helpful activities you can do;
- Make your bed
- Help prepare the dinner
- Sweep up the leaves outside
- Brush your teeth
- Put on your shoes
- Walk your dog
- Put away the dishes
- Help fold your clothes to put away
School House Captains
As you are aware, the school has been preparing to launch a new house system. This is an opportunity for our students to experience leadership roles, as well as increase their voice and agency in their learning, having increased roles and responsibility across the school. The Student Representative Council (SRC) brainstormed some the key qualities they believe makes a great leader. A leader is somebody who is: A role model / listener / trustworthy / good sportsmanship / follows the rules / honest / shares and works together with others.
After consultation with our SRC in term 1, and the sub school leaders, it is with great excitement that we can now announce the follow students as nominated house captains and vice-captains for year 2020 at JSA.
Here is a photo of the medals which are being sent out to our school
Captains and Vice-Captains. Congratulations to those students! There will
be opportunities for all JSA students to demonstrate leadership and teamwork qualities as part of their house team. But a special round of applause to our Captains and Vice-Captains! Well done! We look forward to seeing your important input into the school, and also watch you learn more about having roles and responsibilities as a leader.

Reminder to parents / carers: In order for teachers to best support you, it is necessary for the school to maintain a record of attendance during this time. Can families please make sure that they check in with their teacher each morning of the week, just as they would normally. This can be done via email,
See-Saw or Webex.
