Foundation News

Wow! Welcome to Week 9 of Term 2!

Today is Day 69 as we count towards 100 Days of School.

Trackie Day Fun Friday
Trackie Day Fun Friday

Last Friday the Foundation students were very warm and cosy in their tracksuits.

In STEM with Mr Frazzetto, we collaborated in small groups to use an iPad to help move the train we built last week. The previous week the students had made a track and placed a castle and picnic area in the centre of the track. There was great excitement last Friday as they worked out how to get their train to stop at the castle and at the picnic area. The class are getting better at being collaborators when working together as a small group to achieve their goals. Well done Foundation LW!

Have a great week everyone!

Year 1/2 News

The Year 1/2 students are back into the rhythm of things, and we couldn’t be prouder of the way they have settled back into the school routine.

Last week, our students continued to reflect on the remote learning experiences, elaborating further on the challenges they experienced, the things they were proud of, and what they are enjoying about being back to school. Our very persistent 1/2 students have shared very different experiences of what happened during their remote learning experience and we have loved hearing the different stories.

We continued a further investigation into our visitor, the Picasso Cow, and talked about how we get our milk and how dairy is the basis for so many things that we eat. The students are enjoying using our cow as inspiration to help create amazing classroom displays full of their wonderings and thoughts about our new visitor.

In STEM, we did coding using Beebots and Dash with Mr Frazzetto and some of his helpers.

We are enjoying being back into the classroom with our wonderful students and we look forward to the weeks of learning ahead!

Year 3/4 News

Welcome back everyone! We are so excited to have you all here at school. Lots of happy chatter can be heard in our hallways and classrooms as the students reconnect and recommence their learning at St. Fidelis. Lots of discussion revolving around the students experiences with remote learning has been taking place in our classrooms and we can look back at this time and reflect on this experience we have shared together. We will take the time to reflect on what has been, what did and did not work and decide on the best way forward.

Most of all we would like to say “Thank you”. Thank you to our parents for guiding and supporting your children at home with their remote learning.  Thank you to our students for managing and organising your learning away from school and for working so hard!

In the 3/4 Year Level we will be revisiting  the Maths concepts of Addition and Subtraction and continuing on with Geometry.

Some important reminders:

  • 3/4KD and 3/4BF will now have Music lessons on a Monday instead of a Tuesday commencing in Week 10 (next week).
  • Students will be starting STEM Lessons with Mr Frazzetto.
  • Please remember to bring back your Art work that you completed during Remote Learning.
