Principal's Message

Dear Parents, Guardians and Friends,

I thought, given the challenging times we continue to be in, where some positivity could be found and shared. And then I thought of one of my favourite authors......... Dr Seuss!!

So here are a few thoughts from him that I feel are pretty motivational as we move forward together as the great school community of St Anne's. There are certainly things that we experienced that if we keep our minds and eyes open to, will change our future actions.

“You’re off to Great Places! Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting, So… get on your way!”― Dr. Seuss, “Oh, the Places You’ll Go!”

“Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, Nothing is going to get better. It’s not.”― Dr. Seuss, “The Lorax”

“You’ll miss the best things if you keep your eyes shut.” ― Dr. Seuss, “I Can Read With My Eyes Shut!”

However we are still living with the COVID 19 threat and as such we still need to prepare and protect as best we can. Our current practices will continue to the end of term. Thank you for your support with these necessary changes to our usual St Anne's school community practices.

It is awesome to see nearly everyone back at school and the joy the students have shown in reconnecting with each other and their teachers.

In looking forward to 2021 we already have over 20 enrolments for Foundation. We have also had over a dozen tours where parents are still to make their decision. If numbers are sufficient I would be more than happy to run two small Foundation classes in our new junior wing for 2021. With many existing St Anne's families having a younger sibling commencing next year please let prospective parents know about our school at the Kinders and Childcare Centres that your children attend. Our best form of promotion is definitely word of mouth! Though this has been a very disrupted year you only need to go into this year's Foundation class with Miss Holmes to see the great start to school this year's class are receiving.

Next week I will provide details of our Parent Teacher interviews which have been moved to Term 3, Week 2. Just this once they will be on-line. Details regarding booking these timeslots will be in next week's newsletter.

May God Bless you. Wonderfully our church is slowly re-opening for services so keep your eyes open for this.

This week we celebrate the Feast of the Body and Blood of Jesus through the Gospel. We are challenged now to become ‘the body of Christ’ in the world. During the recent pandemic, we have not been able to gather with others to share food and drink. Now restrictions are lifted we can again share a meal. If you are able to gather with friends or family for a meal this week, make a special blessing of the food that you will share. Sustain and nourish others this week as the Body of Christ.

Let your light shine!
