Senior Boarding

SENIOR BOYS

The Year 11 and 12 boys worked very hard during the last three weeks of term to complete a heavy assessment schedule. It was pleasing to see a strong commitment to their studies and their continuing support for each other.

During this time, the boys began to utilise the online tutorial service offered by A Team Tuition through Mount Erin Boarding, while also taking advantage of the afternoon tutoring at both Colleges. All of the boys walked away with valuable tips to help improve their approach to their studies.

The easing of COVID-19 restrictions towards the end of term allowed the boys to recommence sports training, albeit conducted differently to previously. They have enjoyed going back to AFL, Soccer and Rugby League training sessions. There has also been an opportunity for boys to attend music lessons and driving lessons again.

The wet, cold weather has reduced the opportunity for outside activities, but the boys have managed to keep busy with activities in the KCC Hall, games of pool or ping pong, playing cards, socialising or watching movies in the common room.

We hope you are enjoying the holidays with your sons and daughters. After an unconventional start, it was enjoyable term in which the boys have handled the restrictions with great maturity, found new ways to enjoy their time in boarding and grown closer as a community.

SENIOR GIRLS

We had a visitor last week to the Boarding House towards the end of Term 2. Jenjarla  was caring for "baby" Mikey as part of her Exploring Early Childhood subject.

We have recently had the opportunity to be involved in online tutoring sessions. The girls were initially nervous about the google hangout but this did apprehension did not last long.

We met Claudia who assists with Humanities and English and Tom who helps with Maths and Science. They were very welcoming and reassuring and soon the girls were feeling comfortable and quite excited about the assistance they are offering. We spent the time getting to know them and we even met Claudia's dog. We discussed the subjects they will be supporting us in and Claudia also gave us some valuable study tips. Tom was a great help and will be very useful in assisting us with our Science and Maths work.

Now that we have broken the ice, the girls are looking forward to utilising this very worthwhile learning opportunity during the year.
