Year 9
Year 9C student – LIy Bond-Geddes.
When the author wrote, "With my hand trembling I pulled out the lighter and flicked the roller. I held the flame to the hay, " I could visualise the trembling hand when she held the flame to the hay. I could feel the flame reaching for the hay which went up in flames so fast. With the words, "It nearly singed my eyebrows off", I could see and feel how hot it got in just a matter of seconds. I could also see the fright in Ellie's eyes.
Year 9 English students were sharing their Climagraphs, plotting the main character's highs and lows in the novel 'Deadly Unna.'
Below is a reflection from Emily Williams 9C in Illuminate. Maybe for social media or newsletter
”In the book “Deadly Unna”, you can tell the father is angry easily from this paragraph:
“He’d just kept it all inside. Like bottles of homebrew that haven’t been made properly. All that’s tuff inside fermenting away, until eventually it’s all too much and the bottle explodes. Shards of glass everywhere. “
