6 + 1 Traits of Writing Gallery Walk 

Year 8B have been working to create artefacts and takeaways to support their gallery walk. Each group became the expert on one writing trait and they were required to teach the class about the key components of their allocated trait.

Maths

Year 8 Maths students have been doing revision for their Straight Line Graphs CAT.  They have been working really hard during Term 4.   They had a  brain break by playing Connect 4.

Foods

Year 8 Foods class have been making basic scones.  Some of the students experimented with fillings and spreads.  Nutella, marshmallows and lemon curd just to name a few.

Maths

Year 8 Maths students have begun their Investigation Unit on ‘What Makes a Typical Year 8 Student?’ Here, students are running their own data collection activities in their groups to find out about the typical Year 8 student. 

 

Each group are focusing on two characteristics, including the distance a Year 8 student can kick a football, the number of seconds it takes to run 100m and number of smarties they can move from one plate to another. 

 

Next, they will analyse the data, by finding the mean, mode and median.
