Swimming Carnival

On Tuesday 6th March 24 students from across Grades 3 - 6 participated in the LPSSA District Swimming Carnival at Werribee Outdoor Pool. There were a total of five schools competing on the day. It was a fun day for all our students who attended and it was wonderful to see them have a go and try their best when swimming. All the students received ribbons for their participation in events.

Congratulations to all our Swimming Team on your tremendous efforts. It was amazing to see so many students step up and fill in for events at such short notice, due to some students being absent or unwell. Their enthusiasm and team spirit should be commended. Also to the following five students who achieved fantastic results in their individual and/or relay events and have now progressed on to the Divisional Swimming Championships next week:

  • Abbie Bischof - Butterfly & Relay
  • Regan Smart - Butterfly & Relay
  • Zac Karczemki - Backstroke
  • Marcella Setiawan - Breaststroke & Relay
  • Meklit Melesse - Relay

Thank you to Evelina and Jeremy for supervising and cheering on the students throughout the day.  Also a big thank you to our parent and grandparent helpers Melinda Watts, Alison Smart, Kevin Redfern and Dean Smart who worked tirelessly throughout the day, judging places at the finish line. Also our appreciation to all the parents, grandparents and family that came along to encourage and support the students on the day. Finally to the Swimming Team we are all so proud of you for representing St Martin De Porres Primary School in the District Swimming Carnival.  Well done to all of you!
