Countless opportunities at Calrossy

Over the last fortnight, our Primary School students have participated in an array of activities. We use the hashtag #countlessopportunities in many of our social media posts because our students really do have so many opportunities to learn and grow. I am thankful for the staff who provide such occasions and the students who engage with enthusiasm.

Below is a snapshot of the activities our students have engaged in this fortnight: HRIS Athletics, where our 9 year old boys were the Age Champions, National Science Week, Year 5 Wind Rock Farm Excursion to the Wind and Solar Farms near Glenn Innes, Science Day for Year 3, Science Day for Year 5 where our Year 8/9 boys supported the learning of their younger peers, Kindergarten visited the Art Gallery and Library in town, our Year 5/6 Football team represented Calrossy at the HRIS Gala Day in Newcastle,  books have been selling all week in the Scholastic Book Fair and we have supported for Muscular Dystrophy through our Super Cape Day. Every week our students are engaging in Netball, Basketball, Hockey and Rugby in the local community, we’re learning musical instruments in Music lessons and participating in Gymnastics lessons with McGinity’s Gymnastics. Artwork continues to colour our classrooms and everyday our brains are stretched. This week we’ve particularly focused on books and reading as we’ve celebrated Book Week, with the theme, ‘Reading is my super power’.

… there really are #countlessopportunities.

Our focus for the week has been on Wisdom:

If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. James 1:5

I can’t wait to see what is instore next week!
