Principal's Report

Dear Parents, Families and Community members,

Almost the the half way point to term... not sure if this is exciting or scary how fast the year is going!

A Bit of House Keeping...

We have all experienced the blustery winds and heat over the last couple of days and it is certainly prime time for hayfever sufferers! Added to this, the construction in the local area is throwing up it's fair share of dust.

The contractors at the site next door have been very supportive and responsive, increasing the amount of water trucks they have and the frequency of their spraying in an attempt to minimise dust.

If your child is suffering from hayfever and requires medication for this, please ensure you are in contact with the office to make arrangements to support them. If wind and dust is extreme, we will make adjustments to recess and lunchtimes and monitor the amount of time students are outside.

It has been fantastic to see the high numbers of students wearing hats in the yard, so keep up the great work kids!

Professor Bunsen

Students in Years 3-9 had the great experience of investigating chemical science in a work shop with Professor Bunsen this week.  As you can see from the photos, this was a highly engaging learning experience for all involved.

Fabulous Reading by Ruby

Ruby came to share some great reading with Kathryn and I this week.  She even read a book she'd never seen before!  Ruby had a clear and entertaining voice whilst reading and proved that showing commitment and persistence has really improved her reading abilities.  Ruby has shown significant growth in her reading, moving up 8 reading levels this year! Well done Ruby!
