MUSICAL SHOWCASE EVENING:
On Thursday 31st May, the Music Department hosted a wonderful” Musical Showcase” evening in Westside. Over 100 young musicians across Mooroopna Primary School, Tatura Primary School, Mooroopna Park Primary School, Dhuringile Primary School, Harston Primary School, Mooroopna North Primary and Mooroopna Secondary College put on an exciting showcase of musical items.
For many of the younger musicians in Year 5 and 6, it was their first time to perform on stage in the 70 piece, new Junior Concert Band. What a huge sound, and such an exciting atmosphere to play to a packed audience ...hardly a spare seat in the auditorium.
The concert gave each school a platform to perform as well as our MSC Senior Jazz Band, Rock Band, Concert Band and vocalists.
To bring all the schools together is a great way to inclusively celebrate the talent and dedication of each group. Playing to such a big audience makes it even more exciting.
A big thank you our MSC students who continue to mentor the younger ones, and assist in such an event. Also to Bailey Gall and James Eldred for the fantastic lighting and sound, to Matt Jefferis for his wonderful work in particular with the MPS band and his ongoing commitment to the music program, to Andrea Andronaco and Sam Jefferis for front of house, to Mr Lees for transporting the Yr 9 musicians back from the Dookie Camp so that they could perform, and to the dedicated music staff Mrs Gibbs, Nicole Thorne and Mr Lees.
And the Big thank you to the music students for your great work. Well done!!
