Dining Hall News

Meals are a constant topic of conversation in boarding and we reflect and review our menu options regularly, this month Chef Nick has been offering two dinner options whenever possible so that our boarders have choice.

 

Iron has been the topic of the month and Chef Nick has been looking at the iron content in all our meals. On the student’s lunch order for the week Chef Nick has added labelling next to the lunch options so that our students can choose a ‘high iron’ option if they desire.  

 

Lunch in the Dining Hall on Monday for Middle School boarders and Friday for Senior School boarders seems to have been a success. This has been a great way to reduce our waste at least one day a week as the packaging from our boarding lunches is of concern. Some students really enjoy coming to lunch in the Dining Hall and some aren’t so eager and feel they are missing time with their day school friends. We will conduct a brief survey with the boarders this week to get some feedback on this and share this information with you in the first Boarding Buzz next term. In the colder terms we believe it will be more enticing to sit in the warmth of the Dining Hall once a week to eat a warm lunch.
