Then & Now

Here's a photo of a much younger Mrs Dell! This photograph was taken in 1982 and in addition to Mrs Dell, it features her first car and her family dog, Sandy. Mrs Dell's parents purchased her first car and the Renault served her well, until it 'gave up the ghost' about 8 years later.

Mrs Dell grew up in Mt Evelyn and the photograph was taken in her family backyard. She is proudly wearing her 1982 Commonwealth Games volunteering uniform. During this event, Mrs Dell was a line judge for the badminton tournament, and she loved the experience so much that volunteering at sporting events became a life long passion.

In addition to the 1982 Brisbane Commonwealth Games, Mrs Dell also volunteered at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, as a line judge and at the 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games, as a badminton umpire. 

She continues to volunteer in the sporting space, but these days she devotes more time to track and field events.
