Year 8 Girls Cricket
Recently, some of our Year 8 girls proudly represented Healesville High School at the district cricket competition. The sun was shining, faces were smiling, and the momentum was building. The girls faced some serious competition, but that did not stop HHS from coming out victorious in the first round against Lilydale High School. Several wickets were taken and balls were knocked to the boundary.
Our second round was much closer, however, with Upper Yarra Secondary College narrowly claiming victory. With an impressive 18 runs off the first over, we slipped just short of the final target, against the eventual tournament winners. The team claimed a mighty second, with some valuable experience for next year’s tournament.
Each team member represented themselves to the highest level, on and off the field, with some excellent sportsmanship throughout the games and helping set up and pack up the field. A well-earned Macca’s trip on the way home concluded a fantastic day for the runners up.

District Swimming
The weather was perfect for the district swimming at Croydon. Kerry, Jad and Mrs Mitchell attended the day with 17 perfectly behaved students. All students participated to the best of their ability, and despite the tough competition, we managed to win some races. Congratulations to Tyler Barclay on his Under 15 Breaststroke win and the Under 16 Freestyle winners; Riley Cameron, Tyler Barclay, Liam Warner and Ashton Crossman. Liam pushed himself and swam in many races, and as a result, he was the recipient of the Under 15 male age group medal. Well done, Liam!
