Captain's Corner

Caitlyn and Lily
Caitlyn and Lily

Recently I caught up with Caitlyn Anderson Hunter and Lily Clements over lunch. As usual, it was lovely to chat with the girls about their experiences as Year 12 students and school captains.

Since the last edition of Captain’s Corner, both girls, like their Year 12 peers, have completed a few SACs and they are well and truly into the swing of Year 12.

At the time of our conversation, Lily had completed three SACs, one for each of Physical Education, Business Management and Health and Human Development. She was particularly pleased with her result in Business Management (90%), and she knows she achieved this score as a result of her hard work and completing several practice tasks prior to the real SAC. Lily also spoke about Mrs Morley, and the extent to which the excellent and prompt feedback she provides supported Lily to receive a score of 84% on her first Health and Human Development SAC.

Caitlyn has also experienced success on some of her first SACs. Prior to completing her first Psychology SAC, she spent a lot of time with Ms Neil and this was obviously a big help, because she received a score of 94%! Awesome.

Both captains agreed that the workload is becoming more challenging, however, they feel well supported and remain positive. Aside from the academic aspects of Year 12, they are making the most of the experience. Both participated in the Staff V Year 12 volleyball and Caitlyn was pleased the Year 12s were the ‘unofficial’ winners. Um…I think the staff may dispute that claim…

Thanks for the chat, girls! I look forward to another lunch with you soon.
