Guess the Teacher Baby Photo Competition

We had quite a few entries for the ‘Guess the Teacher Baby Photo’ competition at the end of Term 1.  We thank the teachers who had the good humour to share a baby photo with us!

The most recognised baby was Mr Landes, followed by Ms Fisher and Ms Cochrane.

We had 2 winners with 8 correct matches. Both from  grade 1!!!  Sakura 1A and Rhys 1B.  Congratulations! The prize was a $50 voucher from Officeworks so it has been divided into 2 $25 vouchers, along with some GESAC entry passes.

The baby photos, along with their matching adult, are shown below.

Boomerang Bags at the Fiesta

We have received a lovely reflection and message of thanks from the coordinator of Glen Eira Boomerang Bags, about their experience at the Fiesta, and the competition winners

Our experience at CPS Fiesta was integral in giving our group the opportunity to engage with individuals. We were able to tell people about our project in the importance of recycling, reusing and reducing waste.  We were able to inspire each other with ideas and real actions to change the direction of climate change.  It was a wonderful, important and heartening way to connect with our local community.

The Boomerang Bags Art show '3 most voted' works are now on display at Caulfield library until 11 May. They will then be moved to Carnegie Library until 11 June.

The whole exhibition can be viewed on the Boomerang Bags Glen Eira Facebook page - please like us to show your support for making a positive difference to our future.  The works from Carnegie school students were outstanding as they greatly demonstrated that our young people know we can do positive things to delay and ultimately curb the catastrophic events caused by global warming.

This is a forever commitment - Make it happen!

Fiesta financial wrap up

We are delighted to report that approximately $17,000 was raised at the Twilight Fiesta on April 2nd!  The success of the Fiesta was about so much more than the money raised - it was a day to celebrate and (re)connect our school families, local businesses, and community groups.

But the fundraising component is also very significant.  Your generosity and support of the Fiesta and other initiatives throughout the year enables the PFA to support the school in a range of ways.  Over the last 3 years, the PFA have been able to contribute almost $80,000 towards a range of school capital works (including landscaping, shade sail installation, and bathroom and sandpit improvement works), as well as many smaller purchases of books, toys, games and other classroom resources across the school.  This year, we are already working with staff around supporting the replacement of basketball backboards, and options to enhance the technology to support streaming of school events.

Thank you!
