As part of accountability requirements, a report is provided to the school community each year for the previous year. This Annual Report was submitted to the Department of Education and was presented to School Council at our March meeting. This report is now available on request from the office and has been placed on our school website.

Copies of our Strategic Plan and 2022 Annual Implementation Plan are also available for viewing on our website. These important documents outline the key goals and priorities Carnegie Primary School are focusing on.

Please join us on Monday 9th May after our morning assembly. At this time we are available to answer general questions, further discuss our school programs and practices, our goals and priorities and our hopes for the future.

TERM TWO PUPIL FREE DAYS - NO SCHOOL FOR STUDENTS

The next Curriculum Day elected and approved by School Council is Wednesday 1st June. On this occasion staff will be focusing on Assessment and Reporting. A few parents have asked if curriculum days are able to be held at one end of the week. We understand this request however all of our staff are onsite on Wednesdays and with our part time staff this ensures all have access to this day.

At the end of term one we also received notification from DET about our professional practice day for term 2. These are days we utilise for planning and we usually book replacement teachers to teach classes. In light of the significant shortage of replacement teachers, DET have asked schools to choose a day for the whole school towards the end of term 2. Students will not attend on this day. The Deputy Secretary, Schools and Regional Services informed us that this is a temporary measure, for term 2, as schools have struggled to cover teacher absences during term 1.The date we have selected is Tuesday 14th June, the day following the Queen’s birthday public holiday. Teachers will work on their term 3 planning on this day.

These dates are a few weeks away but please pop them into your diaries. There will be no school for children on these days. Youth Leadership will offer a Before and After Care program.
