The Prep Classes Celebrated 100 Days at School

On the 1st of August the preps had fun celebrating the milestone of 100 days at school. Students worked on projects at home to represent the number 100 and displayed their projects in the gym to parents and other prep classes. It was exciting to see all the different ways to show 100- 100 stickers, 100 shells, 100 beads, 100 chains, 100 photos, 100 monster eyes, 100 Lego to spell a name and many more!

Everyone was surprised to see 4 teachers at the gym whom we didn’t recognise- they were Ms. Jackson, Miss B, Ms Britton and Ms Wilson all dressed up to look 100 years old!

The Preps also had rotation activities based on 100- making 10 lots of 10 paper chains, making a bookmark, painting and doing 100 exercises. The fun day finished with a chocolate cupcake made by the HOL students!

Book Fair

Book Fair begins for another year on the 2nd of September, running for 2 weeks. During this time, the library will be open from 8.30 to 4pm for parents and students to purchase from a great selection of books. Books will be available to purchase from as low as $5! Come and support the library so we can continue to provide students with high quality books.

Thank you,

Play based Learning in Year 2

Currently we are studying the Geography of the world, in particular our close neighbours New Zealand and Indonesia.  We have watched how New Zealanders shear sheep, how different our boats are compared to Indonesian ones. We have also looked at the weather conditions in the countries.  Here are some examples of our great work.

Premiers' Reading Challenge

Dear parents and students,

The end of the Premiers’ Reading Challenge is fast approaching. You still have until 6th September to add the books that you have read onto your online reading log. We have 144 students that have completed the challenge, but there is still time for more students to achieve this success. Don’t forget that all books read can be added, including bedtime stories, books read with grandparents and even class novels.
