From the Chairman
Greetings from Anil Tandon
Welcome to this latest update from Australasian Palliative Link International (APLI). As we have all experienced, the best of intentions don’t always translate into the outcomes we aspire to. I had hoped for this edition to be sent out to you a month or two earlier, but clearly that didn’t happen. At least with this delay we will be able to give you a report on the excellent annual forum which was held just last week in Sydney together with updates from work being done in our region.
On Monday 24 September we will be having our Annual General Meeting. The meeting will be held as a video-conference from 5pm AWST (ie. WA), 6:30pm ACST (SA and NT), 7pm AEST (the Eastern States) and 9pm (NZ). To join the meeting, simply use the following link:
If you have problems joining by video, you can call in via 08 2 8015 2088 (in Australia) or 04 831 8959 (in New Zealand) and then enter the meeting code 676 565 705.
According to our Rules of Association, all positions on our Executive Committee become vacant at the AGM. I would like to encourage you to consider joining our Committee. For the year ahead, we will be trying to develop our Committee as a skills-based group – we particularly are looking for help with our website, our social media presence and with fundraising. Not all of our work is clinical, and you may just have the skill set to assist us.
Those of you who are financial members will already have received an email from our Secretary, Davinia Seah, inviting you to attend the AGM. If, however, you aren’t a member of APLI but would like to attend please return the completed membership form to Davinia at info@apli.net.au and make the electronic funds transfer to BSB 063 806 and account number 1016 0981, noting your full name on the EFT description.
Best wishes and thank you for reading,
Anil Tandon
