New and Returning Staff

We welcome our new and returning staff to the ‘Springs’.

Firstly we feel very fortunate to welcome back our returning staff in 2019.  In Year One J08 we have Mrs Louise Boocock returning 2 days a week.  Also in Year 1, we have Mrs Natalie Higgins returning full time in J07.  Releasing our school's Learning Specialist team on Thursdays, we have Mrs Bree McKenzie in Year 4 and Mrs Stacey Ploeg in Year 6.  It is truly wonderful to have you all back.  We certainly have seen some very excited students.

We also welcome our new staff members to our teaching and learning teams.  In no particular order we welcome:

Amanda Lyons is originally from Mildura.  She has lived in London for two years, teaching and travelling and moved to Melbourne to study.  More recently, Amanda has moved from Brunswick into our local area, making Pakenham Springs the perfect place to teach!

In 2019, Ms Lyons is super excited to be working with a large team of teachers and equally excited to form strong bonds with the students in M20.

Outside of school/working, Ms Lyons really enjoys hiking.  She finds carrying all you need to survive out in the wilderness for a few days quite exhilarating.  Ms Lyons hiked around Wilson’s Prom in September last year and clocked up 75km over 5 days.  WOW!

When Ms Lyons was at school herself, her favourite subjects were Maths and Italian. She loved playing with numbers and enjoyed ‘nutting’ out problems. The Italian language sounds beautiful and the food is amazing!

Carla Rosenkotter is a familiar face to many of our senior students who remember seeing her when she completed her teaching rounds with the Year 6 team in 2018.

In 2019, Ms Rosenkotter has a Year 4 classroom and is excited about working with all the students in M28 to inspire a love of learning and persistence. She aims to share in her student’s curiosity and questions to answer and solve problems and finally to witness their academic and social growth.

Outside of school/work, Ms Rosenkotter enjoys hiking, coin collecting, painting and reading.  Maybe our new teachers will organise a school hike one day!

When Ms Rosenkotter was a student, her favourite subjects were those in Humanities - so anything to do with History, Geography or Economics.

Natalie Coxon is working in the Year 5 Learning Community. She is a familiar face to the students of Pakenham Springs, having completed many casual /relief teaching days in 2018.

The students in Ms Coxon's class have interviewed their teacher and can tell us that Ms Coxon lives locally and has 2 pet yabbies.  She is most excited about getting to know everyone in S39 individually and she is excited to see the growth of each student in 2019. Ms Coxon is a swimmer and enjoys playing netball and going to the footy.

She is a Collingwood supporter, but we won’t hold that against her.  Her favourite subject when she was at school included maths and PE.

Leah Haramoana is working in the Year 3 Learning Community supporting the students in M23.  Ms Haramoana has recently moved to Pakenham with her family and is enjoying using her years of child care experience and wealth of qualifications in a primary school setting.

She is most excited about making a difference to our school by supporting students, teachers and families.  Away from school/work, Ms Haramoana enjoys coaching her daughter’s basketball teams.

When Ms Haramoana was a student herself, her favourite subjects included P.E, psychology, home economics and textiles.
