Year 6

Assistant Principal's Report

Senior School News

At Pakenham Springs, we recognise the importance of having our students feel connected to the school and feeling like they have a voice and choice in matters relating to their education.  We have implemented a guide to developing our senior students this year and will continue to roll out new student voice opportunities throughout the year.

One of these new initiatives in the Senior School this year is our Elective subjects.  Each week, our year 5 & 6 students spend an hour participating in learning, related to an area of interest.  Some of our elective offerings include netball academy, kids in the kitchen, community service, comic book making, art enrichment activities, golf, bootcamp, Japanese culture and many, many more! Students were able to select their top 3 preferences and have committed to their activity for the term.

One of our elective groups, 'It's a Mystery' are currently using their forensic science skills to solve the mystery of the missing Western Bulldogs teddy bear from my office.  The 'crime scene' was examined, with suspicious evidence bagged and photographed.  The ransom note was collected and forensic tests will be carried out throughout the coming weeks.  I hope my beloved Bulldog Bear will be found and returned unharmed!

Have a great week!
