Some Good News
How about some good news, for a change?!
Well, there are still good things going on in the world and at our amazing School, despite the madness. I have already written and read enough about C-19, so I will not mention it again in this brief article!
We had a wonderful Secondary Sports Day on 12 March. I hope you enjoy the page of photos as much as I enjoyed participating in the day as a spectator and timekeeper! My thanks go to Mr McGowan for his organisation and for all students who participated so enthusiastically and all staff and parents who helped make the day a success.
Unfortunately, I was prevented from attending the Year 9 Rite Journey Call and Departure ceremonies held, for the first time this year, at the Soldiers Memorial Garden in Strathalbyn. All reports were that it was a wonderful evening. Thank you to Mrs Christina Lewis for her organisation of this event and to all families for supporting their adolescent take this incredibly important step forward in their lives.
I do hope you and your loved ones are travelling well at this difficult time. Do not hesitate to contact the School if we can do any more to support you. My prayer for you is that you may experience “the peace of God, which transcends all understanding” and may it “guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” [Philippians 4:7].
Please note the most recent announcement made from Mr Mike Potter: the last day of Term 1, Friday 3 April, with Week 10 now a Pupil Free week to allow teachers time to work on their online resources during this period when many students are required to be at home.
Please let us know by Wednesday 1 April if you need your children to be cared for during the Pupil Free week - Monday to Wednesday. We are wanting to support families working in essential services, along with those with employment who cannot work from home.
Thursday 9 April will be a complete student free day for everyone.
