Focus on Learning 

Mathematics: 

Stage 3 students have been working hard on division skills the past 2 weeks.  Not only are we learning to divide large numbers, we are also focusing on fundamentally understanding the concept of division, and the inverse relationship that exists between multiplication and division.   We have had some great success and improvement in Stage 3 since we began division.  See below for some work samples! 

Sport: 

Our school has been lucky enough to acquire funding for five weeks of basketball coaching for sport.  The Stage 3 students thoroughly enjoyed the drills and games last Wednesday and are eager to continue building on their skills in the coming weeks.  Below are some photos of us practising our dribbling skills. 

We have also had a focus on muscle development and functional movement.  We have lots of fun challenging each other to planking and wall sit competitions during our PE sessions. 

Creative Arts: 

In Creative Arts, we have a focus on Dance this term.  Students are learning to control body movements, as well as using imagination to create shapes and objects with their bodies.  Below is an example of this...can you guess what each group of students is trying to replicate?
