Principal's Report

Respect, Creativity, Endeavour, Friendliness, Honesty, Trust

Thank you for Semester 1

A BIG thanks to all families for your partnership this semester and your for continued efforts to support student learning and engagement - at home during remote learning or back at school with onsite learning!

Supporting the wellbeing as well as the learning of all our students will continue to be our highest priority, in Terms 3 & 4 and into 2022.

Term 2 concludes Friday at 2.30pm. Mental health support, resources and advice are available for students and families to access over the holidays.

The Department has developed two fact sheets for students and families to support the mental health and wellbeing of students over the school holidays.

The fact sheets highlight resources and guidance which:

  • support positive mental health and wellbeing of students
  • help students and families identify the signs that students may need mental health support
  • help students and families access support.

Schools should share the fact sheets with parents and carers and older students where appropriate.

The facts sheets are available in 19 different languages, to support all families and students to access support.

Refer to the Mental health toolkit web page to download the fact sheets.

Parent/Teacher Meetings

Thank you to all families for attending Parent/teachers meetings this week. There has been lots of positive feedback from parents and teachers, appreciating the opportunity to meet (even via webex) to celebrate student achievement and learning highlights from Semester 1.

Also, thank you to class teachers, for giving up 2 evenings this week to meet with families. There has been a huge amount of work involved in preparing for these meetings and writing the Semester 1 Reports that were sent home last week. Thank you to our teaching team!

Monday 12th July - Curriculum Day

Monday 12th July is a Pupil free day. Term 3 will commence on Tuesday 13th July for Robbie Mac students.

Staff will be working with Tracey Ezard an educational consultant with a day on strengthening collaborative learning cultures and dynamic leaderships in the school. Tracey's workshops focus on ‘learning deeply together’ and seeking to improve impact, share thinking approaches, challenges and strengths.

Open Evening Term 3

On Tuesday 27th July we are running an Open Evening from 3.45 - 5.15pm for Robbie Mac families. This will be an opportunity for students to celebrate and share their learning with their parents. All adult visitors will be asked to check in via QR code in all classrooms.

Working Bee Sunday 25th July from 9.30 to 11.30am

Garden Bed to be improved!
Garden Bed to be improved!

We are continuing to improve our grounds and the working bee is another way parents can support and assist.  At the working bee we will be predominately working on revitalising our garden bed near the synthy playground.

We are hoping for many hands on deck to assist with various jobs around the school.

 These include:

  • Preparing our old veggie garden for our Eco captains project: removing weeds, digging and raking
  • Raking the sandpit
  • Placing tan bark on playgrounds
  • Sweeping stones off the asphalt
  • Clean up of PFA supplies
  • Picking up rubbish and general sweeping

We will be asking families to bring some equipment from home, such as rakes and wheel burrows to assist with the clean-up!

End of Term 2

Although lockdown and COVID restrictions  are continuing to be eased as we head for the holidays, we know that the impact on families continues to be huge. We hope that families can get away somewhere special and enjoy a break from normal daily routines.

Have a safe holiday everyone, and we look forward to seeing happy, revived students back at school on Tuesday 13th July!
