As we close in quickly on the end of another school term I have been reviewing not only the progress of Certificate III in Agriculture students, but how we select and enrol students into this course. As of next year there will be a requirement that students have completed their Certificate II in Agriculture qualification prior to the conclusion of 2021.

Students requiring more time will be able to stay two extra weeks after the end of the normal school term for Year 11 students. Students will need to be either Farm Focused or ATAR students to be considered for entry into the course. The Certificate III in Agriculture course is a year long commitment and students will be required to commence this at the beginning of 2022 which is the reason why we can not be spending time to assist students complete their Certificate II in Agriculture qualification.

In summary if you are wishing to enrol into Certificate III in Agriculture for 2022 you must;

  • Complete Certificate II in Agriculture in 2021
  • Be a Farm Focus or ATAR Focus student

CBH

I have been in discussions with CBH and they are willing to send a representative to speak with students at the College on Friday 6th August regarding seasonal work.

Next Week's Farm Roster

Next week we have a modified program on Farm and there is the opportunity for students (Year 11 and 12) to catch up on missed learning and assessments. It is important for students to discuss their needs with trainers and Mr Howell, so they can maximise their learning and not waste what is a perfect opportunity for some extra time where required.
