P&F Trivia Night

Circumstances beat us for the second time but the P&F Trivia Night is still seaworthy – merely dry-docked until we have a new launching date.  At late notice, government restrictions prevented us from hosting this keystone event on July 17.

However, we have the chance to build anticipation and excitement once again as we remain in a holding pattern until we can establish a new date.  Please “watch this space” for announcements – Trivia Night has been deferred but not cancelled and we will let you know when we are able to set sail as soon as we can!

Those parents, staff, HOSA and friends who already have their seats and pizzas committed – these will be held over and honoured on the new date.  In the meantime, we still have places available so there will be a further chance to get on board – let’s hope for “third time lucky”.

Details and links for bookings will be sent as soon as we have a new sailing date.

Lions Op Shop Takeover

In the first week of the mid-year break, the P&F were offered the opportunity to staff the Wadham Parade Lion’s Club Opportunity Shop.  At a couple of days’ notice, our amazing P&F team were able to pull together sufficient support to fill a 5 day roster of morning and afternoon shifts.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the passionate and committed parents, students and HOSA members who came out during holidays to support this effort.  In addition to consolidating our sense of the Huntingtower community and service, the week generated fundraising income to the tune of $761.53 which will be returned to the school by way of worthy P&F initiatives.

P&F Care and Share Program

Considering we are in the midst of the latest lockdown, the P&F thought it an appropriate time to remind our HT families of the Care & Share Program.  After the introduction of this initiative at the beginning of the year, the need for community outreach and support has rarely been so relevant.

The last 18 months have demonstrated the unity and strength implicit in the Huntingtower community and the Care & Share Program is the perfect demonstration of these qualities.  This program exists to support HT families experiencing significant adversity and we are fortunate to have the weight of the parent community and HT staff behind us.  We would welcome any further expressions of interest in supporting this initiative but in the meantime, remind the community that this program stands ready to assist through truly trying times.

If you are aware of any need within the community, the school should be your first touchstone. If you are interested in becoming involved as a volunteer in this values-defining initiative, please visit:

HT Christmas Cakes

This term will see the return of the traditional HT favourite, the Christmas Cake Program.

Capably managed by our cake chef extraordinaire, HT parent Georgia Sinclair, the P&F will be offering for purchase a range of delectable Christmas Cakes from early August.  These will be available for purchase online and funds raised will be applied to P&F programs around the school.

Please support this program again this year and keep an eye out for announcements and details about how to order, which will be communicated over the coming fortnight.  We anticipate being able to take orders from August 3.
