Out Of School Hours Care
OSHC News Term 3, Week 2, 2021
The service is excited to announce that OSHC now has its own website where you will be able to see the latest information and news about the service. The website also allows families to book OSHC sessions online. Check out the link below to see what is happening at LNPS OSHC: https://lnpsoshc.org.au/
After a really smooth and successful Vacation Care program, our service is ready to transition back to the school term. We had a jammed back holiday program that was extremely well received by the children and families. From excursions to Adelaide Oval, St Kilda Playground, Flip out and the movies, to visitors like a specialized footy clinic, Sprout cooking class, and rock climbing, and in-service days like DIY fidget toys, tech day and crazy hair day, the children were always entertained. Everything went perfectly and we are excited to start the term with a positive attitude.
Families please be aware that if you do not use the service for 8 weeks your account will be ceased. Centrelink will only pay the percentage of subsidy up until the child's last physical attendance. This means if your account has ceased and your child's last attendances were recorded as absents you will be required to pay the full fee. Follow this link for more information: https://www.servicesaustralia.gov.au/individuals/services/centrelink/child-care-subsidy/how-manage-your-payment/if-your-child-absent-from-child-care#a3
The service has scheduled homework time on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 5pm. If your child does not have homework we encourage them to complete a homework sheet which is suited for their year level and/or ability.
LNPS OSHC encourages children to spend time outdoors and interacting with their peers. This means that technology is limited until after homework time on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
reduced. The television will be allowed as follows:
Mornings: 7:00am - 7:30am
Afternoons: 3:30pm - 4:00pm : 5:15pm - 5:45pm
If you have any queries or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the service.
The July vacation care Website is available at the service and on the schools website.
If your child requires medication please ensure that you have provided an action plan as well as the medication (asthma pump, epipen etc.) to the service. It is vital that we have access to your child’s medication at our service whilst your child is attending.
As part of our sun safety policy all children are required to wear a hat if they are playing outside. Please remind your child/children to bring their hats from their classroom if they are attending the service.
A reminder to all parents and caregivers to contact the service via email at info@lnpsoshc.org.au if their child(ren) are no longer attending their sessions or have been collected early from school.
At our service we aim to cater to children’s needs as much as possible, however, if your child has specific dietary requirements or does not like the food programmed for the day please pack an alternative snack or drop off food alternatives at the service.
