My love for for the moon - A poem
A Year 8 student has recently begun writing poetry and decided to challenge herself by translating her work into French. The author was happy to share their work but preferred to remain anonymous. The French version and the original beautiful poem she wrote appear below.
my love for the moon
is like a child loves an old toy
so special to them
the light gray-silver seizes the earth
just like your hand
wrapping around mine
shimmering bouquets offorget-me-not and poppy
all for you
but what is the most beautiful on the moon
whatever is going on
it's always the same beacon
for both of us
Exploring the work of El Greco
During my Greek class I was assigned to create a poster about a famous Greek person. I ended up choosing El Greco a famous Greek artist known for his painting and sculptures, he was born in Heraklion, Greece 1541, but lived in Spain for most of his life. In one part of my poster I decided to re-create one of his paintings called Opening of the fifth seal, from his complex and really detailed art work to something with basic and simple shapes.
