Do you know how our House System works?

Beaumaris North Primary School provides a House System for student activities with the aim of:

  • Encouraging a positive school spirit as a result of ‘belonging’ to a group of cross age students.
  • Providing cross-age house activities and friendly competition.
  • Providing the opportunity for students to develop leadership skills.

Upon enrolment in Prep, children are placed in one of four Houses:

  • Reserve (Red)
  • Morey (Blue)
  • Wood (Green)
  • McDonald (Gold)

Family members are placed in the same House and new students with no siblings are placed in a way which ensures even numbers across the four Houses.

At various times during the year, students from Years 3 – 6 have the opportunity to participate in the following House Sport Carnivals.

  • Swimming Carnival (Years 4 – 6) - held 19 February 2019
  • Cross Country (Years 3 – 6) - Date TBC
  • Athletics Carnival (Years 3 – 6) - 9 August 2019

Depending on individual and/or team performance (house-based time trials), students can continue to compete in a high level of competition through School Sport Victoria. The competition continues through a series of elimination carnivals including District, Division, Regional, State and finally National competition.
