Interview with a Volunteer

Windsor Knox

Why do you volunteer at BNPS?

BNPS is like a second home to our family and the community feel that is provided by the staff makes me feel like I need to do as much as I can to make it a better place for our kids now and the ones to follow.

What year level are your children in?

Madison just graduated and is now at Beaumaris Secondary and Harley is in Year Five this year.

What roles have you volunteered for during your time at BNPS?

My wife Mel and I have worked in the Canteen, raised money and volunteered each year and most recently helped out with the Year 6 Graduation. I have been involved with the Fathers Activity Club (FAC) for three years and most recently taken over as President. My wife Mel has been Class Rep for both kids over the years, so it's a real family effort.

What is your background/current role (outside of BNPS!)?

I currently work for Jet Couriers in Sales and before that I was the General Manager for the Melbourne Aces Professional Baseball Team for five years.  We even had the whole of Beaumaris North Primary School attend a game in 2012!

What do you do during your spare time?

I coach Baseball, Basketball and Footy and love to get a round of Golf in when there is time.

What’s the best thing about BNPS?

We have made so many friends through BNPS and our kids have made so many great memories from the school. The teachers, staff and environment they create are the best thing in my mind. Our kids wake up every day and look forward to going to school.
