Facilities Updates

Over the Christmas break, please watch over our school.

CSPS is a community resource of which we are proud, but we occasionally have visitors who do not share our same passion.

If you see anything suspicious, please report to the Police.

2019-20 Bushfire Preparedness (Vegetation Program)

Scope of works - Tree pruning and removal

CSPS is a BARR school which means that we are on the Bushfire at Risk Register.

As a BARR school we are required to undertake vegetation clearance on a regular basis to de-risk our school in the event of a bushfire.

Such actions include:

  • Regular mowing, clearing of debris, whipper snipping and spraying of weeds.
  • Removal of dead vegetation and pruning of lower limbs of established trees.
  • Removal of trees or branches that are overhanging school buildings.

In addition to the vegetation program we have also completed a Tree Health and Condition Assessment report on all the trees within our school boundary.  This audit has resulted in a number of our trees being pruned and/or removed.

The City of Casey has removed a paperbark tree on the footpath on Brown’s road due to safety concerns.  They are also attending to a second tree on the footpath on Pearcedale road at the top of the school This is due to be completed this week.
